ARTRIANGLE is an annual fund raising exhibition organized by MATAHATI group. The exhibition brings together artist from four different countries, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia and Singapore; with the purpose of increasing the appreciation of art in this region through a more open network of exchange and to further inculcate closer working ties amongst our artists. It aspires to energise 4-way art dialogue between these countries and inadvertently, add more excitement to the art scene in South East Asia.

As a fund raising exhibition, 50% from the sales of artworks from ARTRIANGLE will be channeled to the Tabung Seni MATAHATI or MATAHATI Art Fund. This Art Fund was formed to help artists, as well as the art scene itself. It will go towards assisting in the welfare of those artists in need, which includes incidences involving natural disaster accidents, health issues and even death. Part of the proceeds will also go to the SGM culture and education.

MATAHATI Art Fund will also be used to help artists in initiating art projects and activities that will be of benefit to other artists and in particular, the arts in general and the public. Matahati is a contemporary artist collective that champion self expressive art through works that touch on issues related to social commentary and culture. It was founded in 1989 and consists of 5 artists that graduated from MARA University of Technology in Shah Alam, Selangor.
The Objectives of MATAHATI are ;

• To be a strong voice in dealing with social commentary issues and self-expression
• To be a group that will motivates artists from within to create and exhibit work together with artists from other countries
• To offer a space for collaboration and experimentation open to all form of Arts

Apart from organizing exhibitions, MATAHATI also offers other exchange residency programme with art groups from other ASEAN countries, as well as local residency programme for young Malaysian artists. The group also holds art workshops for students, art talks and curatorial services.
